E-Bikes and Yakima Bike Rack Weight Restrictions
Question:
E bikes weight a lot more than tradidional bikes, what do you recommend for a bike carrier. I'd been looking at Yakima carriers.

For electric bikes, I usually don't recommend Yakima racks, because they don't quite reach the weight capacity needs of an eBike, which are usually between 60 and 85 pounds.
Instead, I recommend the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE for Electric Bikes, part # HLY84FR. This is a reinforced rack designed for carrying Ebikes, with the ability to carry up to two 80 pound bikes. The rack includes a locking anti-rattle hitch pin and keyed alike cable bike lock. The rack does require that you have at least a Class III hitch on your vehicle.
