Replacement 3500-lb Trailer Axle for 2007 Spree by KZ Tandem Trailer
Question:
I am have the referenced trailer and, based on measurements the axles are bent, causing abnormal tire wear. As far as I can tell it looks like spring center is 69inch and flange face were the brake assembly bolts is 80. The tag on the axle states model T35, 3,500 capacity, AL-KO KOBER. Do you have replacements available for this type of application?

Expert Reply:
If your KZ Spree trailer's 3500-lb-rated axles are bent from damage or from overloading them beyond their weight capacity then they should be replaced. This will not only restore the trailer's handling but it will also prevent continued issues with uneven tire wear. Usually an axle that was bent from being overloaded will result in more wear on the inside edges of the tires. A new axle has a light upward bend that levels out under load.
Our two 3500-lb-rated axles without hubs are displayed on the page I linked for you. These are Dexter part # T3584F-EZ-8974 which has EZ-Lube spindles and part # T3584F-8974 which has standard spindles. These have an overall hub face length of 89-inches and spring centers spaced at 74-inches. Both include 4-bolt brake flanges.
Please refer to the linked image to see how these dimensions are taken.
