Winch Stand Compatible with Sled Bed Snowmobile Trailer

Question:

I have a Sled Bed 2-place 10foot tilt snowmobile trailer. I want to mount a winch to pull a dead sled onto trailer. Would like to mount your CD31013G winch stand and Dutton-Lainson DL15337 Hand Winch. However, the center tongue beam on the trailer is 2inch X 3 3/4inch tall. The 2 cross beams are 3inch tall. If I mount the stand to one of the 2inch X 3inch angle beams Im concerned that it would not pull the sled at the proper angle. Do you have solution for my problem?

Expert Reply:

The CE Smith Winch Stand - Galvanized Steel - 30" Tall x 2" Wide # CE31013G should work on the center beam based on the measurements you gave. The additional height of the center beam won't be an issue as the width is still 2 inches. Because your trailer is 3-3/4 inches tall, this will required mounting directly to the frame instead of using u-bolts around the frame. You will also want to consider using the Dutton-Lainson Angle Mounting Plate for StrongArm Electric Winches # DL24059 to give you the proper winch angle.

You will not want to mount the stand off center as that angle would present an issue.
