If you are using a supplemental braking system like the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR in your 2017 Ford Edge flat towing setup then you can use the 12 Volt Outlet Kit # RM-9332 to supply power to it.

Something that you may find useful if you plan on flat towing frequently is the Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect with Switch # RM-766. It will disconnect your battery with the flip of a switch so that you do not need to have any tools on hand, plus it makes the process much quicker.

If you are installing a wiring kit like part # RM-15267 then you can also install the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit # RM-156-75 to the middle pin on the 6-Way to charge your battery.

As long as you are following the procedures in your owner's manual for flat towing your Edge you have nothing to worry about when it comes to the steering system while it is being flat towed.

For a complete flat towing setup you will also need a base plate kit, a tow bar, safety cables, and possibly a high-low adapter. If you do not have all of these components just let me know and I can make some recommendations for you.
