Transmission Cooler Recommendation Needed For a 2007 New Body Chevrolet Silverado 6.0 Liter
Question:
I have a 2007 Silverado 1500 LT late body style, it is a 6.0 Litre Vortec Max, equipped with a 4L60E trans 16 bolt pan. Truck is equipped with a Fisher SD series snow plow. I am looking for a recommendation for an add-on transmission cooler, one that is close to a direct fit without cutting the stock lines one with an adapter What can you recommend? Thank you.

The Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit, item # D13504, would be a great choice for your 2007 Chevrolet Silverado. You will also need a Snap-In Radiator Adapter Fitting, item # D13035, to complete the installation on your 6.0 Liter New Body Style truck.
You will remove the OEM transmission return line snap in fitting, install the # D13035 fitting and then run a line from the newly installed fitting to one of the ports on the transmission cooler. Then, run another length of hose from the second port on the cooler to the return line removed in the first step. Finally mount the cooler in front of the radiator and air conditioning condenser for the best cooling.
I have attached a photo showing how the cooler should be installed and where the Snap In Radiator Fitting, # D13035, should be installed.
