Will P3 Brake Controller Have Light Stay On All the Time When Truck is Turned Off
Question:
I recently purchased a Tekonsha P3 brake controller and custom wiring harness for a 2002 Silverado. I followed the install instructions and the tutorial video on you website. When I turn the vehicle off, the controller stays energized - is that normal ? the harness is plugged in to the top row, second from left slot in the electrical box

Brake controllers such as the P3 you referenced # 90195 will go into a sleep mode after about 15 minutes of it sensing no movement. If you peek through the window after 15 minutes then it should be in sleep mode. Opening the door or causing movement to the truck could cause it to wake back up.
You want the controller to always have power though so it doesn't reset itself.
