Installation of a Tekonsha P3 Brake Controller # 90195 on a 2011 Chevy Silverado
Question:
I would like to confirm installation instructions for the tekonsha P3 on my 2011 Silverado. Step 1. Connect the wiring harness provided with the P3 to the wiring harness located above the break. I believe there are 5 wires provided in the truck. Step 2. Mount the P3 level and in line with the vehicle parrallel to the direction of travel. Does it matter if the P3 is slightly tilted up or down? I know that that it cannot be tilted side to side, it must be level and parrallel to the diretion of the vehicle. Step 3. Connect the two wires to the fuse box terminals, one is 8mm x 1.25 and the second is 6mm x 1.0. I also may need to get a 40 amp fuse? Step 4. Set up the controller for what you intend to use it for. If yall could confirm that this is correct that would be great. I saw your video online and want to make sure that that is the same for the P3. I would assume so, but you know what they about assuming.

You are correct, you will install the wires from the wiring harness from the Tekonsha P3 Brake Controller # 90195 to the four wires that are attached above your 2011 Chevy Silverado brake pedal. I attached an FAQ article on wiring a brake controller to your vehicle for you to check out also.
The # 90195 does not require a level installation, it will adjust to non-level installations and work fine. I attached installation instructions for this product for you to check out also.
You are also correct on the two wires needing to be connected under your hood to complete the installation. Check out the FAQ I attached to see more on that. GM does not supply the nuts for this, you would need a Hex Flange Nut # 185916 and a Hex Flange Nut # 185917.
