How Does Fifth Wheel Hitch Install on 2017 Ram 3500 With Factory Rail Kit?

Question:

I have a 2017 Ram 3500 long bed with the 5th wheel prep. Im towing 41foot with 15K+ pounds. Do I need a rail system or does the hitch attach using just the prep holes? Looking at your 25K hitch.

For your 2017 Ram 3500 you would not need a rail system depending on which hitch you get; the one you referenced, the B&W Companion # BWRVK3600 for example, will fit directly in the puck system of your truck. This would be a fantastic choice, because the Companion is considered by many to be the highest-quality fifth wheel hitch available. With nearly 400 reviews from customers who have purchased it, the Companion has gotten a nearly unanimous 5-star rating.

It features dual jaws which are a full 1" thick to provide complete contact with your king pin so you can have faith that your connection is completely secure. I've added a picture of the jaws so you can see for yourself how impressive they are. The Companion is also going to give you a much quieter ride with less rattling than other fifth wheels due to that secure connection, along with the polyurethane bushings it has. It has a pivoting head to make hooking up easier, a cam-action latch to deter binding, and offers three different height settings to ensure you are level with your fifth wheel.

I have added links to video reviews of this hitch for you to take a look at as well.
