How much of the tounge fits in each side, I have limited tounge length and want to make sure I have enough room to slide it over and bolt it down?

The trailer tongue will need to go in at least 3 inches on each side of Fulton Fold-Away Coupler Hinge Kit, # FHDPB230101 to retain strength and structural integrity. You may be able to have another inch of the same size tubing welded to the short end so that it gets the full 3 inches. Welding should be performed by a qualified professional welder.
