Where Does the 4-Way Trailer Connector on a 2015 Honda Fit Store After Installation
Question:
the wiring harness for a 2015 Honda Fit has to be attached inside the trunk and has to hang out the trunk. why can you have it outside so that the cable will not be damaged by the trunk closing.

The 4-way trailer connector that fits your 2015 Honda Fit, part # 118767, actually stores outside the vehicle near the trailer hitch receiver. I've linked the install instructions for you. The harness plugs in behind both tail lights and then there is a power wire that needs to be run to the Fit's battery.
To mount the connector near the hitch use the bracket # 18144, along with one of our no-drill brackets, # 18140 for the short one or # C57202 for the long one.
On some vehicles the 4-way does store inside a compartment and it must be ran through the hatch when used but your Fit isn't one of them. Although when this is the case there isn't any damage to the wiring harness. The rubber molding inside the seam of the hatch protects the wiring from any damage.
