Should Emergency Brake Be Applied When Releasing Slider Base of B&W Patriot
Question:
Do you need to press your emergency brakes before unlocking the slider like the Reese slider or do you just pull up with no problems. Like moving the truck forward or backwards in order to release the pressure.

Any time you release a slider from the position it's in you want to have the emergency brake pedal engaged so that if there is pressure between the truck and trailer the truck or the trailer doesn't suddenly move when you release the slider of the hitch.
If you are on level ground when parking you might put your vehicle in neutral for a second and release the brake before sliding the shifter into park to help remove any pressure between the truck and the trailer though.
