Finding the Cold Side of the Brake Light Switch in a 2017 Jeep Cherokee

Question:

My 2017 Jeep Cherokee does not have a factory tow package. So far I installed 6927, 118605, ETDC7, 7894 and C13171. All I need to do is connect the red wire from brake controller to the brake pedal/light wire. Can you help me identify which wire? Color? I attached a picture of the harness where the brake pedal switch is. Thanks for the help.

In your 2017 Jeep Cherokee Latitude, I unfortunately can't tell you which wire is the correct color for your brake controller, but I can tell you how to determine that. You will need to use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 and test each wire coming out of that switch. The correct wire will have no signal when the pedal is not pressed and the switch not engaged but will have signal when the pedal is pressed and the switch is engaged. That wire will need to be connected to the red wire of your pigtail # 7894. This is the white wire on many Jeeps, but you will need to test to confirm.
