Cargo Carrier and Trailer Hitch Receiver for a 2010 Acura RL
Question:
Hi, I have a 2010 Acura RL, and your site shows the Curt C11336 Class 1 hitch as my only hitch option. My desire is to have a cargo carrier on the back, to be able to carry a load of less than 100#. While I realize that my desired load including the weight of the cargo carrier itself does not exceed the tongue weight of the C11336, Id also like to confirm that a cargo carrier such as the Curt C18110, or Pro Series 63155 from your site would be otherwise compatible with both my car and the C11336 hitch. Thanks in advance for your help!

Your Curt Class I Hitch, part # C11336 is rated for a tongue capacity of 200 pounds and has a 1-1/4 inch opening. The most important part about the Class I hitch is that they are built to only carry weight within a particular distance behind your vehicle. This limits the range of carriers that you can use on your vehicle. You should always verify your tongue weight with your owner's manual prior to loading cargo on the trailer hitch attachment of the vehicle.
I recommend the 20x47 Reese Cargo carrier, part # 63155 which is fitted to the 1-1/4 inch Class I receivers. IIt has raised sides and a mesh floor that is handy to secure your cargo with an assortment of bungees or a net. This rack weighs 44 pounds and is rated for well over the tongue weight.
