2013 Subaru Impreza Premium Hatchback 2 Reciever Trailer Hitch Recommendation

Question:

Good afternoon, I am wondering if the 76084 Draw-Tite Max-Frame Rear Trailer Hitch for Subaru Crosstrek/Impreza would work for my 2013 Subaru Impreza Hatchback? I am looking for a 2inch receiver and I know that is a Class 3 product. What would you recommend? All I see is Class 1 options. I am concerned that putting bikes on the back with a Class 1 wouldnt be enough. I spoke with Subaru and they dont recommend towing anything but do you have any data on how much I could tow if I get a Class 3 hitch? I know it says up to 3500lbs but would that do a lot of damage to my vehicle, do you have any testimonials with this car?

For your 2013 Subaru Impreza Hatchback, we do have one 2 inch receiver available. It is the EcoHitch Invisi Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 306-X7211. This trailer hitch receiver will only fit models with center knock-out panel in the lower rear fascia, and does not fit WRX or WRX STi models.

A Class I trailer hitch receiver will work fine to carry 2 bikes on your Impeza if you use a Class I compatible bike rack. Some racks will have more than 2 bikes, but the description will limit you to 2 bikes max. Something like the Swagman XTC-2 # S64670 is an example of a bike rack that would work well.

For towing, you will need to follow the Subaru Owner's Manual for your vehicle. Even if a trailer hitch is rated for 3500 lbs, it does not mean that your vehicle can tow that amount.

The Draw-Tite Max-Frame # 76084 is not a fit for your vehicle.

Let me know if you have further questions. I have linked all of the class I compatible bike racks for your convenience.
