Rear Sway Bar Recommendation for 2014 Georgetown 270s
Question:
Ive read that a 1 3/4 sway bar adds a great deal of stablility. Roadmaster has a 1 1/2 and the 1 3/4 inch options. We have a 29 ft Georgetown 270s. It has a F-53 chassis with V10 engine. 18,000 GCVW. On some sites we read the 1 1/2 inch bar is the correct application, on others the 1 3/4 also works. I dont want to order the wrong part. The Roadmaster we were looking to add is Supersteer 1139-144 Rear Sway Bar. Thank you. The other is 1139-146.

Expert Reply:
The correct rear sway bar for your 2014 Ford F-53 with a v10 engine and 18,000 lb GVWR is the Roadmaster # RM-1139-146. The thicker bar will be a bit stiffer which in some cases may cause a harsher ride quality if used on a lighter RV.
The Roadmaster # RM-1139-146 has a diameter of 1-1/2 inch which is still thicker than the OEM bar on your coach. Your RV actually comes in on the lighter range of the GVWR range for this sway bar so it would be more than adequate.
