Pulling a 39 foot travel trailer with a smaller truck, like a Ford F-150, could definitely be pushing or exceeding the truck's towing weight limits . The best way to determine if it is safe or not is to check your copy of the owner's manual (you can find one online if need be) and checking the specifications of your vehicle to see what it is capable of.
You will want to check those numbers with the Gross Trailer Weight (GTW) and Tongue Weight (TW) ratings of the trailer hitch that is installed on your F-150 as well. If your truck and the hitch receiver are rated higher than the weight of the travel trailer then you should be good to go.
I do recommend looking into a Weight Distribution (WD) system though. We recommend using a WD system when the trailer weighs more than half of the weight of the tow vehicle. You will want to base the WD system's TW rating off of the weight of your trailer, when it is loaded and ready to go, along with any cargo behind the rear axle of your tow vehicle.
If you let me know the year of your F-150 and the exact year/make/model of your trailer I can give you some specific examples.
