What Does Error Code 5.H or S.H Mean on Prodigy P2 # 90885 Brake Controller
Question:
This error code has just appeared on my brake controller with the caravan attached. What is it

The S.H code that you are seeing on your Tekonsha Prodigy P2 # 90885 means that the brake controller is detecting a short on the brake output circuit when you are not braking.
You will want to start off by checking the 7-Way on your tow vehicle and check for any signs of corrosion or debris. If that looks good then you will want to check the wire that goes from the 7-Way to your P2. Looks for any places where the wire is bent, exposed, corroded, or damaged and replace it with 10 Gauge Wire # 10-1-1 and 10 Gauge Butt Connectors # DW05745-5. You will want to check the 7-Way connector and wiring on your trailer as well.
I have also attached a helpful article on troubleshooting brake controllers that you can use as a reference.
