max load capacity for my trailer wheel is 2600 lbs. Can I use an E rated tire that has a max pressure rating of 80 psi? Do i have to use a metal valve stem?

With a max load capacity on your trailer wheels of 2600 lbs, you can still use a Load Range E tire that is rated higher but you will be limited to the lesser weight capacity for your max load. For instance, if your tire is the Karrier ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range E # AM10303 which is rated for a load of up to 2,830 lbs at 80 psi, then you will be limited to 2600 lbs. The tire still needs to be inflated to its max capacity of 80 psi so the tire will ride properly, but you risk damaging your wheels if you have a load over 2600 lbs on this combination.

With this combination, you can use a rubber valve stem like the Americana High Pressure Rubber Snap-In Valve Stem - 1-1/2" Long - Up to 80 psi # AM20904 or a metal valve stem like # AM20906.
