Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver For 1989 Ford E-150 With Step Bumper
Question:
Hi, I have an 1989 Ford E150 van with a step bumper. What hitch can you recommend, Class 3 or 4, that will be flush with the bumper, and not hide underneath where I cant get to it? Thanks

For your 1989 Ford E-150 van with step bumper, I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 75703. This will give you a trailer hitch receiver that is close to flush with your step bumper for easy access. I've attached a photo to assist in the look and a video to assist in the installation.
If you don't already have the trailer wiring, I recommend the 4-Pole Hardwire Kit with Circuit Tester # 18252 which will allow you to hardwire your connections quickly and easily.
For a ball mount, I recommend the B&W Tow & Stow 2-Ball Mount - 2" Hitch - 5" Drop, 5-1/2" Rise - 10K - Black # BWTS10037B. This will give you an adjustable mount to tow multiple trailers level. It also has two integrated hitch balls to fit a 2 inch coupler or a 2-5/16 inch coupler. This ball mount has a really nice and clean looking stow away option that will protect your shins when not in use. I recommend using a hitch lock like # e98882 to protect your investment.
