Enclosed Hitch Mounted Cargo Carrier without a Base or Shank
Question:
Would it be possible to purchase this without the bottom metal hardware? Id like to set it into my existing hitch carrier at the back of my 5th wheel trailer. So dont need the hitch hardware. Also would it be possible to paint it white? Thanks.

The enclosed part of GearDeck 17 Enclosed Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Slide Out - 17 cu ft - Black Item # H00604 attaches to the tray part which attaches to the base/shank so it wouldn't go together correctly without all those parts.
We do have the similar replacement pod, # 10188, but it is smaller at 13.5 cubic feet. The replacement pod measures 53" long x 27" wide x 19" tall. This is slightly larger than the outer dimensions of the GearDeck 17 which is 48" long x 25" wide x 27" tall.
As far as painting either of these white you would have to use a paint that is compatible with plastic but even still you may have to repaint it more often than if it were metal or wood construction.
