Only certain bike racks are rated by the manufacturer for use behind RVs or trailers. This is simply because the ride at the rear of an RV is significantly rougher when compared to the rear of a standard passenger vehicle. The reason for this is that the rear of an RV is typically extended well beyond the rear axle, which results in a seesaw like action when driving down the road that in turn creates a lot of extra movement on the hitch and bike rack. RV approved hitch-mounted bike racks are built to withstand this kind of movement.

For an RV approved rack similar to the Saris model you were looking at, I highly recommend the Swagman E-Spec 2-Bike Platform Rack # S94FR. This is a very nice, platform-style rack that will allow you to transport 2 bikes of up to 60 pounds each. It features a heavy-duty rack that includes both a bike and hitch lock to secure everything into place and help to deter theft. It is compatible with 2-inch hitch receivers.
