Replacement Electric Trailer Brakes for a 2010 Montana 3400RL Hickory
Question:
2010 Montana 3400rl Hickory. Think i need to replace brakes. Doesnt seem to be stopping well on the highway and in town. Dont know what size axle. I have 16inch wheels.

Before you replace anything try adjusting the brakes, if you haven't already. I've attached an article and a video on adjusting brakes. In the video skip ahead to about the 4:35 mark to see the adjusting. It can be easier using an Adjustment Spoon # W80630.
If you do need replacement brakes my guess is that you'll need 12 inch assemblies, based on the size of your trailer. However, you'll want to measure to make sure. Measure the insides of your drums like is shown in the attached picture. If yours are 12 inches in diameter by 2 inches deep then I recommend # AKEBRK-7-SA for new brake assemblies. Both the left and right hand sides are included and labeled to make the install easier. They're also self-adjusting so once you have them set up the first time on install you won't have to mess with them again.
You'll also probably need the mounting bolts and hardware # BRKH12.
