How to Find Replacement Axle for Boat Trailer
Question:
I have this boat trailer and had a bearing go out on the front axle, the axle with the braking discs, during a recent outing. Unfortunately we did not notice the problem before it had destroyed the spindle. My question is Where do I find the part number on the axle so I can find the correct replacement?

The best way for finding the correct replacement axle for your boat trailer is to take a couple of measurements on your existing unit. You will want to determine both the hub face to hub face dimension, along with the spring center to spring center dimension on your current axle. I have included an image that clarifies these measurements.
Once you have these measurements, you will also want to make sure you find a replacement that matches the capacity of your current axle. The axle capacity should be listed somewhere on the axle itself. If you cannot locate it, the information may be listed on the main trailer plate on the trailer tongue.
For example, the Dexter Trailer Axle # 35545I-EZ-89 has a weight capacity of 3,500 pounds. It has a hub face to hub face measurement of 89 inches and a spring center measurement of 74 inches
I have attached a link that will take you to our available selection of trailer axles. You can use the facets on the left side of the page to filter through different lengths and capacities.
