Installing a 7-Way Connector on a 2011 Ford Van with Aftermarket 4-Pole Connector
Question:
Hi, I while back I installed a 4 pin towing harness on my 2011 Ford E350 Van and it works great thank you for the great product!!. However, I would now like to install a 7 way blade connector, but do not see a product/kit that would work. Any advice?? Thanks!!

I am glad to hear that we were able to help you!
Since it sounds like you didn't have any kind of wiring previously on your 2011 Ford E350 Van you will need to install our Universal Wiring Kit # ETBC7. This will include all of the wiring and parts needed for installation. You might also need the Extra Wire # 10-2-1 since you have a vehicle that is fairly long.
If you plan on using a brake controller to haul your trailer with brakes then I recommend going with a Tekonsha brake controller, like the Prodigy P3 # 90195, as the Tekonsha line of electronics is very reliable and has great customer reviews.
You will need to hardwire the included pigtail of the brake controller to the following functions:
Blue - Brake Controller Pin on 7-Way
Black - 12V Power to Battery
White - Ground
Red - COLD side of the Stop Light Switch (only gets hot when brake pedal is pressed)
On the Black wire that runs to the battery on your Van you will need to install a circuit breaker as well. If your trailer has 2-4 brakes then it will need to be a 20-Amp Circuit Breaker # 9506P, but if it is 6-8 brakes then you will need a 30-Amp Circuit Breaker # 38630.
I have attached some helpful articles and an installation video of this process that you can use as a reference for the install.
