Brake Controller Options for 2016 Range Rover Sport HSE
Question:
Best option for a brake controller for towing a camper trailer with a 2016 Range Rover Sport HSE. FYI, Ive read on other forums that the Tokonsha P3 and appropriate harness will work but when I asked the trailer company that I am purchasing my trailer, they refused to deal with the RR electronics and advised to use a wireless brake controller although twice as expensive. Will a wired controller work? Thanks in advance.

The trailer company was correct in advising you that with a 2016 Range Rover Sport you would need a wireless brake controller such as the Curt Echo # C51180. This controller works using a factory or aftermarket 7-way, so if you have the factory 7-way you will not need anything else. Should you need to add a 7-way you will first need a 4-flat connection, which you can add with the 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118681. Then you will want the Installation Kit # ETBC7L to get the necessary 7-way that will allow the Prodigy RF to work.
I have added links to videos reviews of these products as well as installation demonstrations for you to take a look at.
