The best way to determine what system will work for you is to know what your total tongue weight is. The total tongue weight is the tongue weight of your fully-loaded-ready-to-tow trailer added to the weight of any cargo you place behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. You will then want to find a system where your total tongue weight falls near the middle of the tongue weight range for the system. Getting a system that is too small will be useless, but getting a system that is too big will result in a stiff, uncomfortable experience.

I-beam trailer frames do pose a problem with weight distribution systems. You will need to modify the trailer in order for a weight distribution system to work. You will need to weld steel plates to the I-beam so the brackets can be attached.

The tongue weight of your trailer will probably be somewhere between 1400 and 2100 lbs. The weight distribution system we offer that can handle that weight would be the TorkLift SuperHitch Everest # TLWD1000. This system is designed for tongue weight between 1500 and 3000 lbs.

You will also need an adjustable shank to use with the system. I have attached a link to the dual-shanks like # TLM9011 and # TLM9010.

The hitch ball is not included so you will need a hitch ball with a 1-1/4 inch shank. I have attached a link to the hitch balls we offer you can check out.

Using the # TLWD1000 will require a dual-hitch trailer hitch on the towing vehicle. I have attached a link to the two receiver trailer hitches we offer. If you let me know what the year make and model vehicle you are planning on using to tow the trailer I will see if we have a trailer hitch that will work for you.
