Troubleshooting The N.C Code Flashing On Brake Controller  

Question:

I HAVE THE CODE N.C FLASHING IVE CHECKED EVERYTHING IT SAYS TO CHECK AND IT ALL CHECKS OKAY. I WAS WONDERING IF RUNNING IT OFF A RELAY WOULD CAUSE THIS CODE AND IF THE RELAY WONT CAUSE THIS WHAT STEPS SHOULD I GO WITH NEXT. THANKS FOR YOUR TIME

The NC means not connected, so your brake controller isn't seeing your trailer because there isn't a power draw on the brake controller output wire. Often this is because of corrosion at the connections or a bent pin. Check and clean your connections and add a little dielectric grease # 11755 to help that connection.

Sometimes there needs to just be a little more of a amperage draw on that brake wire for the controller to see connection. You can use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to see if it goes away when you are drawing more power using that tester. If so, I recommend using a load resistor like # DI34ZR to draw amperage without activating brakes.
