Leveling Trailer Information to Prevent Trailer Sway
Question:
I just picked up a small single axle boat trailer 1470# GVWR currently sitting on 4.80-12 tires 5 lug wheels which need to be replaced. I havent had any issues yet with the trailer swaying but I understand single axle and lighter trailers are more likely to move around. I figured now would be a good time to see if bigger tires would be a worthwhile upgrade. Assuming the weight distribution on the trailer is correct, and either wheel can meet the weight capacity needs and fit in the wheel well, will moving up from a 4.8-12 to a 5.3-12 tire provide any extra stability or sway reduction? Most of my driving will be city but I still plan on a few highway trips each year.

More important than tire size is how level you trailer is sitting. It's hard to see perfectly in the picture you sent in but it looks like the trailer may be sitting a bit nose high which will cause sway much easier than just having a smaller tire size.
You really wouldn't gain much stability by going to a slightly bigger tire size, but if you can get your trailer more level that will help greatly.
Check out the help article I attached that details how to pick out a ball mount to allow a trailer to sit as level as possible.
