Weight Distribution Recommendation for 636 lbs of Tongue Weight
Question:
I recently purchased a 33ft 6200 pound with 636 pound tongue weight travel trailer and the dealer put on an e2 weight distribution friction sway control system. I get a lot of sway when pulling with this setup so much so that I stay about 55 mph on the interstate and the tail of the camper is constantly dancing back and forth even with no cars passing or cross winds and semisfoot passing me are unnerving. Ive read some of your reviews that the cam style sway control would fix this problem. When I asked my dealer about this type of system they swear this will do nothing for me and would make it worse because it is an inferior system, even when I told them about some reviews Ive read. Im beggining to think theyre just trying to prevent me from returning the hitch. Im towing with a 2015 ram 1500 ecodiesel with rear air suspension and 10 ply tires.

The type of sway you described is not going to be fixed by weight distribution, but that being said the Dual Cam Strait Line systems are definitely superior to the e2 line of weight distribution systems. There's nothing wrong with the e2 systems but they are more of an entry level weight distribution and the Strait Line systems are a top of the line system that will work better.
That being said the sway you are getting is not the type that a weight distribution system can fix. What you are describing is something that's caused by improper trailer loading or a trailer that's out of level or has worn suspension components. If you can move more of your trailer's cargo forward in the trailer to get it's tongue weight a bit higher you should see the problem go away. You can also check to make sure that your trailer tires are inflated to their max psi listed on their sidewall.
Let's say you still did want to upgrade your WD system to a Strait Line. For that the part # RP66083 would be your best option. It has a tongue weight range of 400 to 800 lbs and features the only sway control on the market designed to work to prevent sway instead of reduce it once it's started.
For a 2 inch ball you would want part # A-90 and for a 2-5/16 inch ball # 19286.
