Options for Installing a Tow Ready Custom Wiring Harness # 118253 on a 2011 Honda Pilot
Question:
Hi, I have a 2011 Honda Pilot, and need a 7-way wiring harness. Your options cut/pasted below say to NOT use for a 2011. However, is this only b/c the cut out on the bumper doesnt match up? Or because it doesnt work with this model year? ALSO, if it does work but doesnt match up - I see in the comments that some folks are using it with a mounting plate - what mounting plate would that be? Thanks! Luke cut/paste Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring - 118253 •Replacement for damaged OEM wiring harness •Quick and easy installation •Upgrades vehicles from 4-flat to 7-way connector •Has circuit protected modulite •Mounting bracket sold separately For 2011 Pilot models we do not recommend this wiring due to fit issues with the factory cut-out in the rear fascia.

The reason we do not recommend that you use this product on a 2011 Honda Pilot is that factory cut-out in the rear fascia causes fit issues with the included mount. However, like you said there have been a number of people who have made this product work on their 2011 Pilots using different modifications and mounting brackets.
One person was able to use a Mounting Bracket, part # PK12711U, and make it work for him. It sounds like he used it as a backing plate to attach the 7-way from the # 118253 to the rear fascia of his Pilot.
Check out the review by Robert K. on the product page of the # 118253 to see his description of how he made it work on his 2011.
I attached installation instructions for the # 118253 below for you to check out also.
