B and W Companion Fifth Wheel Hitch Recommendation for 2016 Ram 2500 with Hitch Prep Package
Question:
When installed in a 2016 ram 2500 with a 76 inch bed what is the distance from the back of the cab to the center of the kingpin jaws when the upright arms are mounted in their most rearward position?

Expert Reply:
We don't have that figure, but I can tell you it won't be enough to allow you the needed clearance to make a tight turn with your 2016 Ram 2500 short bed.
Instead you'd have to go with the slider version of this hitch which is part number # BWRVK3670 as it can slide back when needed to provide you the clearance you'd need to make a tight turn.
The only way you could use the # BWRVB3600 would be if you installed a Sidewinder pin box on the trailer.
Sidewinders are pin box specific so you will first need to know what pin box you have now in order to pick out the correct one.
There should be a sticker or a stamping on the OEM pin box of the trailer that will list the pin box number that is on the trailer.
Once you figure out which pin box you have you can check the FAQ I attached that has a chart that shows the correct Sidewinder to get based on which pin box you have.
