Can 7-Way on Vehicle be Replaced with 4-Way and Brake Controller Still Work
Question:
I have ordered a replacment 4-way connector to replace my damaged 7-way connector on my 1994 Suburban. I think it is causing a short that is blowing my my 20amp fuse for my parking lights and dash lights. My question is, i have an older trailer brake system installed, do i need another part after replacing my 7-way with the 4-way connector?

To retain the use of your brake controller you have to go with a 7-way instead of replacing with a 4-way. The 4-way does not have enough pins to carry the brake circuit so you'd have to find a way to replace it with a new 7-way instead with something like the part # 20023.
