External Mounting Bracket for 4-Pole Trailer Connector on Curt Wiring Harness C56158
Question:
Im interested in purchasing the Curt Class III hitch and wiring harness #C13119 and C56158 for a 2014 Honda CRV and would like to mount the wiring connector under the bumper near the hitch. Is a bracket available to mount the connect under the bumper?

Expert Reply:
Curt 2-inch Class III hitch # C13119 and 4-pole wiring harness # C56158 are both confirmed fits for your 2014 Honda CRV. For a mounting bracket for your 4-pole trailer connector you can use part # C58001, Curt's Easy Mount Bracket for 2-inch hitches. This bracket mounts to the hitch so you do NOT have to drill holes into your bumper.
Please note some customers do prefer NOT using an exterior mounting bracket. By keeping the connector inside the vehicle's rear cargo area when not needed, and simply running it out through the hatch when you tow, you can protect it from potential damage from corrosion from the elements. You can also use dielectric grease like # 11755 to help protect the pins from corrosion.
