Solution for 2017 Ford F-250 with 6 inch Lift Experiencing Sag When Towing Camper

Question:

My 2017 F250 is lifted with a Fabtech 6in lift. I am not sure the size of the blocks used but the shocks are Dirt Logic shocks. Will this product help with the rear suspension sag when towing my 34 ft camper?

I have a solution for you, but it's not suspension enhancement for two reasons. Suspension enhancement for addressing sag created by trailer tongue weight is more of a bandaid to the real problem and also because fitting suspension enhancement to vehicles with 6 inch lifts is pretty difficult.

Best option is a weight distribution system. These system reduce suspension sag by distributing some of the trailer's tongue weight to the front axle of the tow vehicle. In doing so the braking and handling performance is improved.

The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached a help article on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well. You will want the loaded tongue weight of your setup to fall right in the middle of the tongue weight range of the system you use.

Most likely the Strait Line system part # RP66074 will be what you need based on your trailer dimensions but that's somewhat of a speculation. This system is good for tongue weights that are between 600-1,200 lbs and features only sway control designed to fight sway before it starts.

You'll need a drop shank like the part # C17124 since you truck is lifted so tall.

For a 2 inch ball you would want part # A-90 and for a 2-5/16 inch ball # 19286.
