Parts Needed to Install 7-Way 1997 Jeep Wrangler for Towing Surge Brake Trailer with 7-Way
Question:
Need the part number for a kit to wire my jeep to pull a trailer with surge brakes. The trailer is a 7 pin round.

Expert Reply:
First you need to start with a 4-way connector if you do not have one already on your 1997 Jeep Wrangler. For that you would want the part # 118356.
Then to convert this to a 7-way to match your trailer you need the part # 37185. The purple wire of this kit needs to be connected to your reverse light circuit and you will be set. You would want to use a quick splice like part # SWC501746-1 to tap into the reverse light circuit.
