Trailer Tire Recommendation for a 5th Wheel Trailer with 235/80-16 Tires

Question:

I have never heard of these brands of tires. I assume they are all made in China. What popular brands do they compare to? Which of these 4 are ones you would recommend for my applications. My fifth wheel take size 235/80R16. The weight of my unit is 10000 dry weight. Westlake LHWL401 Karrier AM10248 Contender C23516E Taskmaster TTWTRTM23801 Thanks for your help.

I know how you feel. Almost all tires are made overseas now and not just trailer tires. Westlake, Kenda, Karrier, Loadstar, Contender, and Taskmaster are all popular trailer tire brands comparable to, if not better than, other more well-known brands such as Goodyear.

For your 235/80-16 tire size it is tough to beat Westlake tire # LHWL401. This is a load range E tire rated for 3,520 pounds at 80 psi and has a speed rating of 75 mph. This tire has a 5-year warranty, which is the most you are going to find on a trailer tire (at least that I have seen). But with it you also get complimentary roadside assistance for 2 years so that means flat tire service available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week anywhere in the United States, Canada, or Puerto Rico. If it were me, this is the tire I would go with.
