Recommended Equal-i-zer Hitch Head Rating
Question:
How can you identify what the hitch head is rated for? Is it by the shape number on top? Are the square tubes where the bats go in different sizes? I want to replace my head and a friend has one barely used but he doesnt know the lb rating and the stickers are gone.

The square tubes are different sizes. The systems basically have two bar dimensions, so if you bars are a fit in the head, then you will be fine with the head. If the bars do not fit in the head, then you cannot make it compatible. There are two different bar sizes, 1-1/4 and 1-1/2 inches and you can't vary between the two. If you need a new hitch head, I recommend the Replacement Head for Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Systems - 1,200 lbs TW # EQ90-02-1200.
Unfortunately the numbers on top of the shape doesn't really help, but the bar dimensions do.
