Wiring Harness Needed for Installing a Truck Camper in the Bed of a 2011 Ford F-350

Question:

New F350 2011. Driver side at rear of bed there in a 6 way and 2 way wiring harness that is dubbed off. Is Ford using this wiring harness to connect with its fifth wheel option instead of connecting to the 7 pin connector and if so is there a after market harness? Thank you

To run wiring into the bed of your truck for attachment of a truck camper, fifth-wheel trailer or gooseneck trailer the correct wiring harness is the Draw-Tite Fifth Wheel and Gooseneck 90 Degree Wiring Harness with 7-Pole Connector, item # 50-97-410 that you have selected.

This harness connects in line with the OEM 7-Way wiring harness present at the back of the truck and will allow you to retain the use of the bumper mounted 7-Way connector. Using some dielectric grease, item # 11755, to protect the wiring connections when installing the harnesses is a good idea for longevity and trouble-free operation.

I am not aware of the 6 way and 2-way wiring you are referring to. A circuit tester, item # PTW2993, could be used to determine the function of these wires, but there is not a harness available that I am aware of. The easiest method of supplying an in bed 7-Way is the above-mentioned harnesses.
