Installing Reese Universal Base Rails # RP30035 on a 1993 Ford F-250

Question:

I am removing a fifth wheel hitch from a 97 GMC extended cab with a 6 1/2foot box. Im going to install it in a 93 F250 XLT with a 8foot box. Its an extended cab with two doors FYI. If I were to use the same measurement from the end of the box to the first rail of the hitch mount on the GMC ,28, and applied it to the F250, the pin from the camper hitch would not be over the rear axle, but behind it. Would you be able to provide the measurements for the F250? It would be a great help. Thank you

I actually talked with my contact at Cequent, who owns Reese, about installing universal brackets, like part # RP30035, on a 1993 Ford F250 just last week. He said that they do not have any specific measurements for a vehicle that old. You will want to install the base rails so that either the center of the rails is directly over or slightly in front of (towards the cab) the rear axle.
