Dust Cap Recommendation for Ranger Trail Boat Trailer 9606087

Question:

I have a 1995 Ranger Trail Boat trailer, single axle. The owners manual says it takes a dust cap part 9606087, but I cant find this part anywhere. The dust caps I bought off the shelf keep falling off. theres a metal wheel cap that keeps them from being lost. The only reason I replaced the originals was because they were dented by a boat repair place. I sure wish I had not thrown them out. The original caps fit to where the ridge on the cap fit against the hub. These caps are tight, need to be hammered into the hub, but wont go all the way there. I suspect the axle is preventing the cap from seating properly. Either the cap has to be deeper or the cap ridge closer to the edge. The race is L68110 and the bearing is L68149TRP-Z. Can you help? Thanks

You will want to use a dial caliper or micrometer to measure the inner diameter of the hub you have on your trailer to determine what size cap would be needed. Check out the picture I attached that shows this measurement being taken on a hub. I wish there was a different way but this is the only reliable method.

I attached a link to all the grease caps we offer, once you know what size you need check out the link I attached to see all the sizes we offer.
