Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.
In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

The combination of an e-coat base and a powder coat finish provides excellent rust protection.Skip this Draw-Tite and get the Curt instead. The build quality is night and day comparing the two.
Wasted 3+ hours attempting to install this Draw-Tite hitch, just to realize that the front-back supports are too long. Confirmed that the unit was in spec, so it may have been engineered that way. Final offense was that the receiver tube on the unit we received was visibly crooked. I really shouldn't have proceeded further after seeing the construction. Props to etrailer, though, for swapping the Draw-tite for a Curt hitch. The replacement Curt unit installed easily in 20 minutes. You've been warned - in this context, higher price did not translate to better build.
