Grease Recommendation for Repacking Boat Trailer

Question:

Hi bought a used boat trailer that has a reddish purple grease in it. Not sure what it is. OEM says they used red and tacky lithium. Guy I bought it from says he used OMC wheel grease aluminum. Ive got lubrimatic wheel bearing grease calc sulf. concerned about compatibility and how to determine whats really in there. Or do I just strip it down and repack ?

I would say to be safe you may as well remove the grease and replace it. Red grease like the part # L11390 is the heaviest duty grease we offer for trailer hubs so it is what we recommend. It's also waterproof too.
