What is the tongue weight rating for this Pintle hook?

Tongue weight isn't considered as much of a factor for pintle hooks because there isn't as much downward force onto the hitch like there is with a standard coupler. With that being said a pintle hook's tongue weight is considered to be 1/4 of the GTW, so for Curt Pintle Hook # C48004 the tongue weight would be 5,000 pounds.

I am glad that the same advice was not give for this hitch: https://www.etrailer.com/Pintle-Hitch/Brophy/BR27FR.html The 1/4 of GTW rule would have said that the maximum tongue weight is 9000 lbs. However, the manufacture (and your website) says it is 3000 lbs.
