What's up everybody it's AJ with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna be checking out this curt pintle hook. Now, this is going to go in your two inch hitch. We have an adapter on our two and a half inch hitch here, right now, today, that's going to allow this to fit in there. And this is going to hook up to your lunette ring, so you can pull those kinds of trailers. It's going to be really easy to operate and use, and you can pull the pin here, and pull up on this latch, that brings this part up.
Now, it's ready for you to back up that ring, put it down, lower it over hook, close it back out, and you're good to go. Let's check it out. So this is going to work with lunette rings with a inner diameter of two and a half inches. So, just keep that in mind, when you're thinking about what trailer you're going to use this with, this will hold up to, it will tow up to 20,000 pounds, so, you have to keep that in mind too, with whatever you're going to haul on your trailer, and put on your truck. The whole construction of the pintle hook is going to be a steel forged construction.
So, it's going to hold up to the elements that you leave in the back of your truck, on the hitch all the time, or you throw it on the inside. It's going to hold up, it's going to last you a long time. One thing I will note though, it does not come with a pin and clip. So, that's what you're going to put here in the hitch pin hole. So, I recommend getting an each a locking pin and clip.
It's got a barrel lock on the end, and you turn it to tighten it down, and lock at the same time, which is going to keep it protected against people trying to lock, pick it, or even just mess with it. Now, it's time to go ahead and hook up that lunette ring. So, I'm gonna just back up the pintle hook in the place, and we'll get it attached. Now, I got back up, and in place, I can go ahead and lower the trailer, which is going to lower the lunette ring into the hook there. That's good right there.
Now, we got to lower down in to place into that hook, push that back down, and then, place our pin. Overall, super easy to use. I back it up with no issues, stopped right on the dime, dropped it down there, you see the lunette rings down there in that hook. It's nice and secure, it's not going anywhere, especially with that pin in place, and this part last up here. Now, the only thing I would say is it doesn't have some of the features of the other premium ones like, "I like that there's a bumper, I want the other curt ones that you can back into that ring right into, and then, lower it from there." That's really helpful. I like that one. And then, some of the other ones that actually had the ball mount on there too, that way you don't have to switch it out, depending on what your towing. So, if you just want to tow your heavy equipment, you need this, or you have a boat with a coupler. You could hook that up there with a ball mount, and use the same one. But, if you don't have another trailer, you only got to work trailer. It's going to be just fine for that. You don't have to swap anything out. Thanks for hanging out. And I hope this helped..

A truly outstanding piece of craftsmanship all the way around. At an affordable price yet too. Don't tell anyone but Etrailer could charge double the price for these for big corporate and commercial account businesses who have all the money and wealth and they'd still sell them. But as an individual and hobbyist only on pension style monthly income I'm very glad I get a price break
on such fine craftsmanship even if it really isn't.

Three days and i had my order. Next morning removed my old hitch welded on my new adjustable hitch. Nice to find a company that gets it right the first time. I will use you again.

Pintle hook purchased 1 year ago. Exactly what I was looking for. I needed for a trailer I purchased for hauling cars, mowers, other misc. equipment. I didn't want to rework/change the pintle on the trailer so I just put this on my truck and I was in business. Very satisfied.
So I got this receiver for my tow truck. I transport a lot of trailers and equipment. I usually use the ball/pintle combo and don't like the clunking you get when you stop and go. To my surprise there is NO CLUNKING my transports are safe and I will definitely be purchasing more for my other trucks.
I like this style better than the universal pintle with the 2 5/16" ball. This doesnt allow the trailer to rattle around much, and I get more responsive braking from my surge brakes. This one is rated at 20k I think. Plenty for me. I would buy one again if I had to.

My Little Guy Rough Rider off road came with the Pintle ring so I needed this Pintle hook. This was way more hook than I will ever need, but why skimp when the price for this hook was competitive with what others were selling much lower rated hooks for. Shipping was quick and I have used the hook a few times and it is burly!!
Lumber company moved onto the adjacent property to cut it and left me with a mile of crank & yank off-road driving to get in to mine. Time for a pintel! Incredibly fast shipping means no missed weekends of good working weather. Descriptions had just the right info at my fingertips.
I had planned on buying a surplus military trailer and bought this to haul it home. I ended up not purchasing the trailer so haven't used it yet. It is heavy (18 lbs) and appears well made. Surprised to see it was made in China. Not a big fan of Chinese steel, but at this price I guess it's to be expected. Etrailer was a pleasure to deal with. Product shipped fast, was we'll packaged and free shipping. Hard to beat for the money.
Product was exactly as purported on the Website and by Customer Service. In fact, Customer Service did me good. I was looking a much pricier Pintle Hitch and CS recommended the Curt Pintle # C48004. CS hastened shipping because I needed the hitch in a couple days. Thanks etrailer and CS.

I needed a receiver pintle hook for one of my wagons. Everything else I changed over was near 7 tons. This was the closest without going under. Should work out just fine.
A great pintle hook with a high strength rating for the money. I the only thing I would change is the location of the 5/8" pin hole. It needs to be more central in the shank so that the hitch does not stick out the back of the truck so far.
It fits great. Just what I was needing. I'm a happy repeat customer. Thanks.

After using this hitch for a few thousand miles and always under a load of no less than 16,000 lbs of equipment it has held up to what I expect from etrailer products. I think it will outlast the trailer. Very pleased!!
