Isolation Solenoid Recommendation for Battery Charge Circuit of Trailer

Question:

I want to wire in an aux battery to my horse trailer with a permanently mounted converter/charger for shore power to charge the battery and run the trailer lights and jack etc. I can take the power from the positive in the traler connector and ground it to the trailer chassis, but I am not sure how, and where, to wire in the charger and prevent a back drain of my truck battery . Do you have a wiring diagram or explanation of how to do this thanks. I think I will need a solenoid to protect the truck battery.

You will want to install the isolation solenoid part # PK5231201 on the 12 volt accessory circuit of your 7-way so that it only is active when the truck is on. This will prevent backfeeding when you use a charger like the CTEK part # CTEK56353 when you are charging the vehicle battery.

I attached a picture that shows how to wire up the solenoid as well.
