Can The Draw-Tite Class I 1-1/4 Inch Hitch # 24825 Hold Two Mountain Bikes On A 2009 VW Rabbit
Question:
Will this hitch have any problems holding two mountain bikes. I am not planning on towing anything it is strictly for a hitch mount bike carrier. Also are all the hitches that are available for the rabbit hidden under the bumper? Draw-Tite on a 2009 Rabbit Thanks,

The Draw-Tite Class I 1-1/4 Inch Hitch, part # 24825, has a tongue weight capacity of 200 lbs. This hitch will be able to hold two mountain bikes, but you will want to make sure the weight carrying capacity of the Class I hitch bike rack you choose will be able to hold the weight of your two mountain bikes. The weight carrying capacity is always determined by the lowest capacity in the complete setup, either the hitch or the bike rack.
I am including installation instructions on the Draw-Tite for your Volkswagen.
Some of the Class I hitch bike racks will be able to hold two bikes at 35 lbs. per bike (70 lbs. total) and others will hold two bikes at 45 lbs. per bike ( 90 lbs. total). I am including a link to a FAQ page on how to choose a hitch mounted bike rack. Also, I am including a link to a page of Class I hitch bike racks
The trailer hitches that are available to fit the 2009 Volkswagen Rabbit are all designed to fit under the rear fascia. The Curt Class I 1-1/4 Inch Hitch, part # 11099, is the only hitch that will need minor trimming of the rear fascia when being installed.
