Difficulty Finding Trailer Reverse Light Wire on a 2012 Ford F-150
Question:
I installed a hopkins 37185 to convert my 4 pin to a 7 pin on my 2012 F150 XLT. Had the 3 wires at the rear and found the #10 blue for the brakes and #10 orange for the hot at the main connector on the left front wheel well. The truck has a trailer tow backup light relay and relay fuse, both are good and relay is operating, even switched relays to make sure it wasnt a bad relay. The legend I have states the wire should be gray with brown stripe circuit #CAT 03 and CAT 16. I can not find the wire at the connector, used a voltmeter also and still could not find it. Am I looking in the wrong place or am I missing something.

From what I could find what you have described as far as wire location is accurate. It is possible that it is further up in the loom that the other wires were in or in that general area. But if you can't find it then the only other option is to splice the reverse light wire from # 37185 to a wire behind one of the reverse lights on your 2012 Ford F-150.
