Can Curt Weight Distribution Brackets be Used with Equal-I-Zer Weight Distribution Systems
Question:
Hi. Great website. Question is. I have a equalizer system for use on my trailer. I have the EQ 95-01-56 brackets installed on my current Rv. Just bought a new utility trailer 16ft tandem. Question is will the CURT hookup brackets 17208 be compatable with the original equalizer hitch brackets I noted above. Any info is appreciated. Thank you If you need additional information please contact me.

The Curt weight distribution brackets # C17208 are chain hanging brackets like in system # C17057. The Equal-I-zer systems do not use chains. So if additional brackets are needed you would need to use the Equal-I-zer brackets # EQ95-01-5600.
If you are talking about the similar bracket set # C17508 then I cannot say that they and the Equal-I-Zer spring bars are compatible because they are not tested together making compatibility and capacity unknown. The other issue is that on the Curt systems that use these brackets the L-shaped piece that holds the bar to the bracket does not function as sway control. On Equal-I-Zer systems they do so the design is fundamentally different as well.
