Will An Anti-Sway Friction Bar Work With a 6 Inch Rise Ball Mount?
Question:
I HAVE TO USE A TRAILER HITCH RECEIVER WITH A RISE OF 6 INCHES CAN THE SWAY CONTROL 83660 AND SWAY CONTROL PLATE RP26003 STILL BE EFFECTIVE??

Expert Reply:
When using a rise of 6 inches, the Reese Sway-Control Bracket for 2" Ball Mounts # RP26003 and the Reese Friction Sway Control Kit # 83660, will still function the same way. I reached out to my contact at Cequent to confirm, and he said the rise won't cause any issue at all with the function of these two parts.
If you feel there is too much movement in the shank, I'd suggest using an Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock for 2" Hitches like # 63232. As long as you are towing level, the bracket and the friction bar will allow the anti-sway to work without issue.
