Comparing Draw Tite and Curt Trailer Hitches for a 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
Question:
Good morning, I am looking for a class III trailer hitch for a 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport S and I see two different types available on your site. One is narrow 13432 and slides over the center frame Behind the rear bumper and the other is much wider and appears to bolt to the frame further out. Is there an advantage to one over the other? Will they both support the same amount of weight? Does the longer reduce ground clearance? Love your product but want to get the right one. Thank you very much.

Helpful Expert Reply:
The Curt hitch part # 13432 that you referenced has a shorter hitch tube than the Draw Tite part # DT78MR. Basically that means that the Curt hitch would be more recessed under the vehicle. While this may be more aesthetically appealing it also makes it harder for hitch accessories to clear past the rear spare on the vehicle.
Both hitches are rated for the same weight capacities and would work well. The most popular option is definitely the Curt hitch.
